Choose a font in the writing box
Under the writing box, open Font & size and tap the font name to see the choices: Noto Sans and Noto Serif Gurmukhi, Mukta Mahee, Anek Gurmukhi and Tiro Gurmukhi, plus Raavi if your computer has it. Each choice shows a sample with ਸ੍ਰੀ, ਖ਼ੁਸ਼ੀ and Gurmukhi digits so you can see the details before choosing. Size and line spacing sit next to it.
What travels with the text and what does not
Copied text is plain Unicode: WhatsApp, email or Word will show it in their own font. That is normal and the words stay right. PDF / Print is made from the page and normally keeps the chosen font — check the preview. A Word download names the font, but the computer that opens it must have that font installed, otherwise it uses another one.
Fonts for different jobs
For phones and long reading, a sans font such as Noto Sans or Mukta Mahee is easiest on the eyes. For letters, invitations and printed notices, a serif font such as Tiro Gurmukhi or Noto Serif looks more formal. Larger size and a little more line spacing help older readers more than any font change.
If a font change seems to break the text
If changing the font turns Gurmukhi into English letters, the text was never Unicode — it was typed in an old font. Convert it once with the Anmol Lipi to Unicode converter, and from then on you can change fonts freely.
Try the fonts on your own text
Open Font & size under the writing box and switch fonts while you watch your text.
